Beautiful weather, classic snacks and legendary venues - what more could an England cricket fan possibly want?

Well, perhaps an Ashes series in Australia where they retain a possibility to win back the Ashes once the opening games are done.

Unfortunately, this scenario is off the table during this tour, after Australia's crushing victory by 82 runs in Adelaide gave Australia leading three-nil for the fourth successive Ashes series on home turf.

England's famous supporters' group, England's supporters' group, have a large group making the journey for the last two matches in the SCG and MCG.

In addition, there are tour groups who will celebrate the holidays down under, as well as loved ones planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Fans with Booked Tickets

Four fans named Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie are four such fans.

Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie had their itineraries and entry credentials secured for the Boxing Day and New Year Tests "a full year in advance", anticipating a rare England series success.

Sadly, they've observed Australia outplay the visitors in just 11 days from their residence in their hometown.

"Everyone at work has been making comments that the series is done for the last two weeks," stated Sam Ryding.

"Our expectation had been that we would have a meaningful contest upon our arrival."

Diminishing Hope

There was plenty of positivity about England's chances of ending their 15-year wait for a victory down under prior to the first ball.

But they are now facing the prospect of prolonging a streak without victory in the country to 19 consecutive Tests when the next match starts in Melbourne on Thursday, 25 December.

Ben Stokes' side - and their followers - will be hoping to sidestep a dreaded 5-0 scoreline.

It was mentioned that the "excitement and fun" of head coach the aggressive 'Bazball' approach in the past couple of seasons had "reinvigorated" the longest format for England fans.

But the Ryding siblings said they had realistic outlooks for the remaining matches - and all they are hoping for from the players is "a bit of fight".

"Commentators consistently alludes to it, but it all comes down to mental resilience. 'This style has been become a phrase now that is just, like, impractical batting," stated Rory Ryding.

"In a five-day Test match, you should dig in. Playing at deliveries 'sixth stump' areas has never featured in the coaching manuals, and that is largely because of the batting lineup."

The Remaining Matches

Prompted about he believed England will secure a victory in the current series, one fan responded: "The evidence suggests the Aussies are just too good currently."

"There is going to have to be more than one player that makes a significant contribution and makes a big impact."

Regardless of the result, the siblings are still looking forward to the trip.

"It will be a fantastic experience nonetheless," said Katie. "We have to go with that attitude."

"Obviously it is unfortunate we don't have more to play for, but we have invested a significant amount as it is."

"We plan to savor having Christmas and New Year overseas. It is also a new experience for us away from home during the festive period."

An educator, Katie is intent on maximizing the 21,000-mile round-trip as part of her seasonal break.

"Should the cricket disappoint, I can play golf to rely on," she finished.
