Just 70 days post its big-screen premiere, the new Superman makes its streaming debut on HBO Max very soon.
Corenswet announced the big reveal on social media with a snapshot of his TV showing the film on the streamer’s homepage. He playfully tagged co-star Sara Sampaio with a shout-out to her character Eve Teschmacher, while the director amplified the news on the platform formerly known as Twitter, revealing the movie arrives Friday, Sept. 19. Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed the update not long after in an official press release.
Exclusive Superman Experience
In celebration of Superman’s homecoming, the platform is introducing a special themed interface featuring engaging elements. Fans will see news-inspired homepage art, a Fortress of Solitude section showcasing related films and shows, and secret links across the interface that guide subscribers into a villain-inspired interactive space.
Milestone Achievements
Superman smashed through several milestones during its run, including the highest opening weekend for a Superman movie to date. It outperformed Barbie in becoming part of the Two Million Views Letterboxd group in a mere 45 days.
Future of the DCU
Although some may be split on its portrayal of the hero or even its ending, Superman has created a promising start in the revamped DC world. A sequel titled Man of Tomorrow is already confirmed, featuring the returning lead and Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor apparently joining forces against an even greater threat. The film is expected to shoot next year and premiere in theaters on the summer of 2027.
In the meantime, audiences can enjoy Superman on HBO Max from September 19th.
